Your vacation: A ship awaits demolition in India

Our reader shares a photo of a cargo ship listing on its side, ready for ship breakers in Anjuna.

Reader Andrew Lee gazes at a listing cargo ship ready to be taken apart, near ship breakers in Anjuna, India.

“I had heard about the ship breakers at Anjuna. But it seems Greenpeace had done a story about the unsafe working conditions and so tourists were not allowed to get closer than the gate. I found a kid with a motorcycle and gave him money to borrow it. With my girlfriend on the back, we made our way to the beach. There it was — this cargo ship listing on its side, waiting for work crews to descend on it like fire ants and strip it bare.”
