GMS weekly report on China ship breaking industry for WEEK 18 of 2014:

As sustained positivity in all Indian sub-continent markets (particularly India) continued for another week, a number of Chinese owned vessels made their way across to enjoy the higher prices on offer.

May deliveries in the sub-continent (pre-budgets and monsoon) saw some huge premiums obtained - some even over USD 150/LT LDT from the Chinese market. Whether this trend continues as the traditionally weaker monsoon season commences in June remains to be seen, but it was yet another dry week for international tonnage in China.
