GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) will
launch a new report Bangladesh: Seeking better employment conditions for better
socioeconomic outcomes on Monday 11 November.
The report analyses the country’s economic growth driven by
its ready-made garment (RMG) sector and contains recommendations to make this
growth more sustainable and improve working conditions in Bangladesh.
It follows the launch of a major programme by the ILO and
the Government of Bangladesh to improve working conditions in the ready-made
garment (RMG) sector in Bangladesh on 22 October.
A press briefing on the report and progress in improving
working conditions in the RMG sector in Bangladesh will be held on Monday, 11
November, at 10.a.m. in press room 1 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
