Alang ship fire: One more labourer dies

Bhavnagar: The death toll in Alang fire incident, in which six labourers died on October 6, rose to 7 on Monday.

One of the injured persons Ram Singh Sahai succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Bhavnagar.

A major fire had broken out after a blast at the tail end of an oil tanker that was being dismantled at plot number 82 that has been allocated to Kiran Ship Breaking Company owned by R K Jain.

5 persons had died on the spot. All the deceased people belonged to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

After the incident, Bhavnagar police had booked three persons, including ship-breakers -- Ramkrushna Jain and Vipin Jain -- under Sections 304, 285 and 114 of Indian Penal Code in connection with the fire.

All the three accused are out on bail.
