GMS weekly report on PAKISTAN ship breaking industry for week 04 of 2012:

The buying in Pakistan continued at paces for yet another week as cash buyer speculation forced levels above and beyond their current reality. There is the feeling in certain quarters that with budgets impending, prices may rise to satisfy the numbers currently being quoted by some cash buyers.

One deal in particular caught the eye for the week with the Panamax bulker SEA BIRD concluded from Greek owners at an astonishing USD 517 per LT LDT with a guaranteed 200 T bunkers on board at the time of
delivery.

One of the enbloc BM vessels was also sold 'as is' Karachi for USD 453 per LT LDT with the relevant cash buyer placing their crew on board before delivery to end buyers.
