At least 10 people including nine
workers were injured in a furnace explosion at a re-rolling mill in Sitakunda
upazila of Chittagong
Nur Mohammad, officer-in-charge (OC) of
Sitakunda Police Station, said the workers of GPH Ispat Ltd located in Kumira
area and a truck helper suffered burns around 2:30am when melted iron fell on
them following the explosion.
The injured included Md Salauddin, 20, Mahidul
Islam, 18, Badshah Mia, 25, Md Raju 25, Abu Taher, 30, Md Osman, 30, Nurul Alam,
25, Kabir, 24, Md Altaf Hossain, 25, and Md Faisal, 18, reports our Chittagong
Eight of the injured were admitted to Chittagong Medical College
