Bangladesh ship recycling yards raising standards:

The ISO 9001 certification encourages a more efficient and effective ship recycling operations and management systems that will, amongst other things, reduce waste and increase yards productivity.

The ISO 14001 certification will assist the yards in continually improving their environmental performance, whilst complying with applicable legislations.

The OHSAS 18001 certification motivates the yards to promote and maintain the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of its workers.

The ISO 30000 certification requires yards to undertake safe and environmentally sound ship recycling operations in accordance with national and international standards, namely the guidelines developed by the IMO’s Hong Kong Convention on the Environmentally Safe and Sound Recycling of Ships 2009.

The above certifications demonstrate the commitment and readiness of Bangladeshi ship recyclers towards raising the standards at their recycling yards and ensuring environmentally sound and responsible ship recycling practices in compliance with the IMO’s Hong Kong Convention.
