Dalian: State-owned shipping lines continue to make the most of subsidies
on offer from Beijing for scrapping older ships. China Merchants Energy
Shipping (CMES) announced today that a single ship arm of the company had
signed a ship sale contract with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Marine Services
to sell one 43,400 dwt bulk carrier for RMB11.63m.
The 21.5 years old bulker, Ming Ye, was built by a Japanese shipyard.
CMES has sold several old ships recently. 12 new bulk carriers are
scheduled to join the company from the third quarter of 2015.
