Suisun Bay Reserve "mothball" Fleet vessels
In dock: SS Ambassador. Scheduled undocking: Approximately 12:30 p.m., April 10
The Ambassador, a break-bulk cargo ship, was originally launched 1960 as the SS Export Ambassador. It was part of the four-ship "A" series vessel modernization program by owner American Export Lines. The vessel was put back into action in 1991 and 1992 to transport ammunition during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
