As sustained positivity in all Indian sub-continent markets (particularly
India) continued for another week, a number of Chinese owned vessels made their
way across to enjoy the higher prices on offer.
May deliveries in the sub-continent (pre-budgets and monsoon) saw some
huge premiums obtained - some even over USD 150/LT LDT from the Chinese market.
Whether this trend continues as the traditionally weaker monsoon season
commences in June remains to be seen, but it was yet another dry week for
international tonnage in China.
