The platform is located at the German
continental shelf of the North Sea, and has been a part of the pipeline which
exports gas to Europe . The work covers
planning, engineering and execution of subsea removal work on the jacket
substructure as well as preparatory inspections and seabed intervention work
offshore. In this context DeepOcean will provide own vessels as well as ROV’s
and various cutting equipment to be mobilized on the main offshore
decommissioning unit supplied by the AF Group.
The LOI also includes an option for similar
work activities on the B11 platform.
The estimated contract value is approximately
NOK 68 million, excl. optional work mentioned above. The work will start
immediately, with offshore work planned for period 2013/2014.
“This is the 2nd significant award of a
decommissioning contract to DeepOcean this summer following the recent award of
the Statfjord SFC loading buoy EPRD contract by Statoil. I’m pleased to learn
that our customers appreciate the skills and capabilities of DeepOcean in the
decommissioning segment. Also, I’m looking forward to yet again co-operate with
the AF Group on a challenging project where the joint capabilities of the two
companies are brought together”, said Mads Bårdsen, President, DeepOcean.
