GMS weekly report on PAKISTAN shipbreaking industry for WEEK 23 0f 2011:

After the non event that was the announcement of the annual budget last week, very few moves were made by Pakistani buyers in another quieter than normal week.

With many yards stuffed to capacity and monsoon season underway, the general and traditional tendency at this time of year has been to stand off the aggressive buying, as proved this week again.

A number of vessels particularly tankers where Pakistan holds the gas free for man entry advantage were under discussion at the time of writing, as Gadani buyers revert to their usual tactics of cherry picking their favored units in the market.
