Indian, Pak ship breakers visit Sitakundu ship breaking yard:

Chittagong, May 13: A joint delegation of Indian and Pakistani ship breakers visited the ship breaking yards in Sitakundu Upazila in Chittagong on Friday. During the visit, the delegation was accompanied by the leaders of Bangladesh Ship Breakers Association (BSBA). According to BSBA sources, the delegation visited two ship breaking yard and the under construction BSBA Hospital.

The team first visited Mabia Ship Breaking yard at the coastal area of Bar Awlia under Shonaichari union and then Habib Steel Ship Breaking yard at Madambibir Hat under Bhatiary union parishad in the morning. Later they visited the under construction hospital of the BSBA.

During the visit the delegates observed the condition of the industry and different technical aspects of the industry. They also exchanged views with the local ship breakers.

The Indian delegation included Chintan Harshadarai Kalthia, Nitin Kanakia, Hiresh Kumar Gojendra Singh, Joyanta Kumar Nanalal Venany and Pravin Sarlal Nagar Shett.

The Pakistani delegation comprised of Asif Ali Khan, Mohammad Sharif Parcha, Soeb Sultan and Dewan Rezwan Faruki.

Former President of BSBA Jafar Alam, Showkat Ali Chowdhury, Kamal Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Master Abul Kashem, Jahirul Islam Rinku, Amzad Hossen Chowdhury, Liakat Ali Chowdhury, Mohammad Jahangir Alam and Aman Uddin accompanied the delegation on behalf of BSBA.
