GMS weekly report on Pakistan shipbreaking industry for WEEK 17 of 2011:

As the weakest market in the Indian sub continent, Pakistani buyers spent another week largely on the sidelines still full after their most recent binge on units saw them acquire a VLCC, capsize bulkers and several other large wet and dry units.

With monsoon season fast approaching along with the annual budget due out in June it may possibly be another quieter spell ahead as recently concluded and delivered tonnage would take time to digest before the yards clear out again. Still given the right units local buyers may be there to aggressively pursue favored tankers or the larger units on offer.
