Domestic Scrap Ship Price Kept Declining for Four Consecutive Weeks:

Domestic scrap ship price for different ship types continued the declining sentiment for the 4th consecutive week. According to the statistics, scrapping price for 15,000-20,000 ltd crude oil tankers, 6,000-10,000 ltd product tankers and 7,000-12,000ltd bulkers separately stood at $456.667/ltd, $455.4/ltd and $439.167/ltd, declined by 0.72%, 0.57% and 0.47% against last week respectively. Chinese shipyards’ scrap ships imports increased significantly with a total volume of 11 vessels and 765.416 dwt, rising 120% and 110.35% respectively compared with last week. Among all the ship types, bulker carriers’ purchase price was $435/ltd.

The international scrap ship price kept the mild upturn sentiment. Statistics showed that the scrapping price for 15,000-20,000 ltd crude oil tankers, 6,000-10,000 ltd product tankers and 7,000-12,000ltd bulkers hit $514.167/ltd, $510/ltd and $497.917/ltd, recording increases of 0.82%, 0.16% and 1.27% separately. Scrap ships market were active with 36 vessels traded globally of 1786.821 dwt, growing 44% and 80.37% in amount and tonnage against last week. Among different kinds of ships traded, bulker, tanker, containerships, LPG, MPV, Ro-Ro, chemical tankers, refrigerator ship were respectively 12 vessels, 4 vessel, 3 vessels, 2 vessels, 4 vessels, 5 vessels, 4 vessels and 2 vessels.
